RISK FACTORS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN WITH OBESITY

Abstract

Aim. Based on a comparative analysis of clinical and anamnestic characteristics and lifestyle differences in obese children, we studied the risk factors for the development of cardiovascular disorders.

Materials and methods. On the basis of the city adolescent clinic of the city of Tashkent, 137 children aged 13-17 years with exogenous constitutional obesity of the first degree, overweight and normal weight were examined and subjected to further prospective observation. To study the risk factors that are decisive in the development of obesity and associated cardiovascular disorders in children, we analyzed the family, genealogical and social history of all the children examined. A survey of 137 families was carried out using a specially designed registration card: according to the history of the child’s development, the child’s outpatient records, and based on the results of a survey of the child and his parents. The evaluation of the results obtained was carried out using methods of mathematical statistics using the application package of computer programs for data processing Microsoft Excel, STATISTICA 10.

 Results. Cardiovascular disorders in obesity in children are significantly associated with the presence of a predisposition to overweight on the maternal side (OR 3.95), family history of cardiovascular pathology (OR 3.63), asphyxia at birth and perinatal damage to the central nervous system (OR 2.42)) and early and preschool childhood (frequent respiratory diseases (OR 1.17)), low physical activity (OR 2.67) and poor diet (OR 2.54).

Conclusion. The information obtained proves the importance of creating family programs for the primary prevention of obesity, focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, especially in families with a history of cardiovascular diseases.
